SUMMARY
Does Jesus really love you?  As in really love you?  Does He have a plan for your life that is meant to bless you and others?  (yes) Does Satan want to wreck that? (also, yes) So, here’s some real talk: Jesus discusses money and possessions a lot because he knows how important they are to us.  He even knows that we need money and, yes, even some possessions and wants to bless us with both.  So, if he really loves us and wants us to experience his blessing and peace…shouldn’t we follow what he says in this life…even with money?  (you guessed it…yes again)
Let’s look at what Jesus says about financial peace.  Plus, we’ll hear from our very own Gary and Brenda Bessette about their journey with handling money and possessions God’s way.  You won’t want to miss it, so make sure to share with someone who can benefit from this series!

Money & Peace [Part 3]

SUMMARY
Job might be one of the most fascinating and confusing books of the Bible. Many of us have heard the basics of this story, right? God allowed Satan to take everything from Job: his possessions, family, and health. Satan thought Job was so loyal to God only because God was so good to Job. However, God knew Job. He knew Job’s heart and he knew Job’s character. Job was much more than even his possessions, family, and health.
Can the same be said of us? What if we lost everything? Aside from the difficulty that would bring into our lives, it would also make us question our worth. If you lived in Ukraine today and lost all your possessions and money, could you still be…you? Could you still find joy and peace?
In this episode, we’ll hear from our very own Terri McIsaac about their journey with handling money and possessions God’s way.

SUMMARY
We jump into Proverbs to hear directly from God about the importance of seeking not only godly wisdom, but also godly community. We need both and the latter helps us get outside of our own bubble, while also giving encouragement and accountability we can’t always give ourselves. Remember, as a community of Jesus followers, we have access to life-giving community that has the power, experience, and God-given purpose of growing us in our relationship with Jesus. Let’s lean into that.

Money & Peace [Part 1]

SUMMARY
Let’s start this series off with a basic principle to bring peace. If you can think this way about money, it will change how you approach money (and…stuff).
Here it is: It’s not ours, we’re just taking care of it. Wow, don’t you totally feel at peace with money now? Ok, maybe not, but if you can let that little truth sink in and guide the way you look at your money, it really will change your life. It allows us to see ourselves as managers, not owners. If you’re managing something for someone, you want to take care of it and be a good steward of it. This puts ownership with God and that means His wisdom guides decisions and brings peace. It also means we trust Him for more of it when we need it and that we keep an eye on needs versus wants.
What would it look like for you to take a different approach to money? What kind of freedom and peace might you find (or even pass along)?

Churchy Church [Part 2]

SUMMARY
Jesus had a plan for the Church that was beautiful, powerful and fueled by the same power that spoke the universe into existence. It was to focus on Jesus with Jesus at the head of it all throughout all generations. His Church would reach the world and be salt and life and life and bring hope…but, isn’t it funny how easy it is to be just the opposite. Maybe that’s why the Church in America has become so irrelevant to so many people…it just isn’t what it was supposed to be…perhaps it’s simply become Churchy Church and not what Jesus planned. So, what can we do Quaboag to make sure we’re authentically following our leader Jesus at this local church?

It’s interesting how different the church in the Bible looks compared to what most of us know today. Do you know why? Could you point out some differences? It was a pretty messy time, and they didn’t do everything right, for sure. But…it was different.
