Pastor Kyle turns to the New Testament to help guide us on how we can answer questions and have better conversations with non-believers. The New Testament has stories from people who actually walked with Jesus and it has Revelation, a book that tells us exactly what happens if you don’t put your faith in Jesus Christ. It give us a beautiful picture of what a relationship with Christ gives us!

What should we do when the world feels like it’s on fire? “Flood it!” Well, no, we can’t do that. God said He wouldn’t do that again, anyway. Besides, I don’t think we can be trusted with that kind of power! Remember, God didn’t call Noah to judge anyone or anything; God called him to be obedient during the crisis and criticism. If things are feeling desperately wicked in the world right now, will you be obedient to whatever God calls you to? Remember, we aren’t to judge the world. Only God can do that. Listen to our “pastor in training”, Joey, to revisit one of the most well-known stories in the Bible.

Nephilim…heroic beings birthed by relationships between the “sons of God” and the “daughters of mankind.” Is that really in the Bible? If so, why? What was happening there and how does it relate to the bloodlines of Cain and Seth? Is there more to be explored here about the generational consequences of choosing God or choosing sin? Genesis 6:1-8 describes the increasing wickedness of humanity that led God to decide to destroy the earth with a flood, while also revealing God’s goodness and plan to carry on his pursuit and redemption of his most prized creations: humans. One more question: How does the story of Noah's Ark foreshadow the ultimate salvation of God's people through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ? Listen for an interesting discussion!

Genesis 4:17-5:32 traces the genealogy of Adam through his son, Seth, to Noah and his family. Notice the difference in the people in the line of Cain and Seth. One of Cain’s descendants, Lamech is mentioned for his polygamy and his boasting about killing a man who had injured him. On the other hand, some of Seth’s descendants (Enoch and Noah) are specifically noted for their outstanding relationship with God.
Overall, this passage serves as a bridge between the story of Adam and Eve and the story of Noah, highlighting the genealogies that connect these two stories and establishing the lineage of the Savior who would later come to earth. God’s story is big and it’s very intentional! Listen to think about the legacy you are leaving from a local guest pastor, Darrin Ray of Bethlehem Church in Hampden.

By sharing our stories, no matter what we have or have not gone through, we can connect with others to show that our identity is not defined by our ability to overcome struggle. We belong to the one true God, as a child of God and there is power in what Christ has done through us. You are not alone!

![Cain and Abel: The Cost of Jealousy and Anger [Genesis 2.2]](https://pbcdn1.podbean.com/imglogo/image-logo/13524842/Podcast_Cover_h5k3ps_300x300.png)

Genesis 4:1-16 tells the story of Cain and Abel, the first two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain famously kills his brother, Abel, and when God confronted Cain about his crime, Cain lied and denied any knowledge of Abel's whereabouts. Seems like a familiar pattern he learned from his dad, Adam. Sin and evade responsibility! The fallout from the murder of his brother was incredible. This passage shows the destructive power of unchecked jealousy and anger and the seriousness of sin. It also reveals God's justice and mercy in punishing Cain for his crime, while also protecting him from vengeance. Do you personally see the need to turn away from sin and follow God's ways? Listen to wrestle with that question a bit!

Have you ever slowed down to think about a sinful choice you’re about to make? If so, what was that like? What did it save you from specifically? Or, on the other hand, can you think of a time when you didn’t think, but just plowed ahead with a choice you knew was sinful? Do you remember the result? If there was fallout, can you see God still at work? Genesis 3 is famous as the chapter of the Bible where sin first occurred in humans. Also in Genesis 3 are the curses pronounced on Adam, Eve, and Satan. This passage emphasizes the devastating effects of sin and the separation it causes between humanity and God. However, it also foreshadows the promise of redemption and restoration that would eventually be fulfilled through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Listen to glean some wisdom about how to make better choices!

We have saved the most commonly Googled religious question for last. As phrased, this question has received over 74,000 inquiries in one year alone. Everyone dies, and as we have mentioned in a previous question, the idea that life extends beyond death is almost a universal concept across history and cultures. All religions across time and space have some version of life after death. The major difference is the Christian view of life after death and how it hinges on the resurrection of Jesus. His resurrection paints a very different picture of what life is like after death. Listen to discover why!

This week, Pastor Kyle touches on some miscellaneous - but important - key topics of today and how we can find peace in the craziness!
1 - End Times - We need to remember that Jesus said it would get a little crazy, dangerous, and awful, but that He would be with us to the end of the age. We need to trust that Jesus is in control. Our responsibility is to share the hope of Jesus Christ.
2 - UFOs & Aliens - While this is interesting to think about, it’s important to remember the important stuff like our own hearts and relationship with Jesus!
3 - Titan Submersible & What It Shows About Us - As you react to what happened, let’s remember that the victims were made in the Image of God too. When the world seeks to dehumanize, as Christians, we need to remember loving people in Jesus’ name.
