Feasts and Faith: Rosh Hashanah (Feasts of Trumpets)

This feast was celebrated on the first day of the seventh month (Tishrei) and marked the start of the Jewish civil year. It was also a time of repentance and self-examination in preparation for Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Christians believe that the feast of Trumpets foreshadows the second coming of Jesus and the gathering of the saints.
